Volunteer Receptionist

Location: Three Hills

Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

 

Position Overview: The Volunteer Receptionist will provide essential front-desk support and create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and clients. This role involves answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and assisting with administrative tasks to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Volunteer Receptionist will be an integral part of the team, representing the organization’s professionalism and commitment to supporting residents. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.

  • Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, and direct calls to the correct person.

  • Assist with signing in guests and maintaining the visitor log.

  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and organizing office supplies.

  • Maintain the reception area, ensuring it remains clean and welcoming.

  • Assist in scheduling appointments or meetings and managing calendars.

  • Handle basic inquiries and provide general information about the organization’s services.

  • Ensure the security of the premises by monitoring who enters and exits the building.

  • Provide support to other staff members with administrative or office tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, email, and data entry).

  • Ability to multitask and handle a busy reception area.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to help.

  • Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.

 

Experience & Education:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role is preferred but not required.
