Welcome to Monday Mentions, a new addition to the Kneehill Regional FCSS website! Every week we will highlight an organization that provides social supports and/or resources to Kneehill Area residents. This week, we will be starting with Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).
Kneehill Regional FCSS has been operating in the Kneehill area since 1998, serving the residents of Kneehill County, the towns of Trochu and Three Hills, and the villages of Carbon, Acme and Linden. It is an 80/20 funding partnership between these municipalities and the Government of Alberta, and was formed to develop, support and fund preventive social programming to enhance the well being of individuals, families and communities. In addition to each municipality funding FCSS, Kneehill County also provides space for FCSS to operate, and supports FCSS administratively for a minimal monthly fee.
Kneehill Regional FCSS provides several services and programs for Kneehill area residents, such as Information and Referral, Parent Education, Programs for Children, Youth and Families, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, Volunteer Recognition, Education and Awareness, Community Discovery Nights and Tools for School.
Kneehill Regional FCSS also administers and funds a number of Kneehill area projects and programs including the Kneehill Family Wellness Program, the Kneehill Community Support Coach, Kneehill Family and Marriage Counselling and are a major funder of Seniors Outreach.
